Passion Works Studio 25th Anniversary
In 1998, Passion Works began as a collaborative community studio housed within a sheltered workshop where people with and without developmental differences made art together.
We worked with the Passion Works team to create a modular package design system to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. We created the packaging for a new line of silver jewelry that can be used to display each piece separately, packaged as a set, or used as an environmental display. Each box is a unique watercolor painting made by the artists at Passion Works.
Task
Help build a modular package design system.
Passion Works creates opportunities for all people to explore and socially connect through the process of making art. We follow the aesthetic lead, talents, and interests of people with developmental differences and support collaborations to encourage vibrant and inclusive communities. We upcycle otherwise discarded materials and produce environmentally responsible items. No voice, no resource, and no region are abandoned as the studio fosters purpose, connection, and belonging.
We mixed low tech and high magic approaches for creating this new water color based package design. Passion Works artists will create the watercolor artwork for the packaging. The final boxes will be die cut at Passions Works Studios.
We believe to be a team of creatives who are excited about unique ideas that collaborate by listening to client goals and requirements.
We help our community partners grow through research and production focused on conceptual, experimental, and iterative design systems.

Our first iterations experimented with form and materials. Further iterations revealed more opportunities for combining packaging and display, as well as a boxed set for all three type of jewelry in the collection.
